Tart Cherry Juice

I stumbled upon http://www.cherryjuicepower.com/fruitresearchbenefits.htm while researching the health benefits to drinking cherry juice and this is what I learned:

Tart cherry juice if consumed daily can potentially lead to healthy living and a relatively pain free lifestyle. Cherry juice is by no standard a "cure" for inflammatory conditions such as gout or arthritis, however research conducted at Michigan State University has observed the consumption of cherry juice to increase mobility and pain relief for such conditions. Cherries in comparison to other antioxidant fruit, ranks the highest antioxidant potency next to prunes and blueberries. You may be asking, "What the heck is an antioxidant?", an antioxidant simply put is a macromolecule that provides free-radicals (which are little toxins that weaken our cells' normal function, which in turn causes us to get sick and age faster) the use of their electrons that that prevents the deterioration of our healthy cells. Now, back to the antioxidant potency, cherries  contain an abundance of 17 different antioxidants which, when taken up into the body, is a catalyst for preventing tissue destruction meaning that aging and disease is minimized. Here are some other specific health benefits to drinking cherry juice!
  • Supports and maintains healthy joint functions
  •  Increases ability to perform everyday activities
  •  Supports healthy cardiovascular function
  • Supports healthy immune system
  • Natural melatonin supports brain function and normal healthy sleep patterns
  • Promotes speedy relief from exercise induced muscle fatigue (so drink a little bit before or after your workout)
So by drinking 4-6 ounces of tart cherry juice each day your body will receive above and beyond the daily necessary amount of antioxidants and can improve your health!
